To ensure the best possible scanning experience, please note the following limitations of the CSC100 system:
- Magic: The Gathering cards (English only) - The CSC100 is designed specifically for English-language Magic: The Gathering cards and does not support other trading card games or languages.
- Foil detection is not supported - Foil cards can be scanned normally, but the system does not automatically detect foil finishes. We recommend scanning foil cards in separate batches and using the Batch Summary screen to set all cards in the batch to foil.
- Unsleeved cards only - Cards must be scanned without sleeves for reliable operation and consistent accuracy.
We continue to refine both the hardware and the TCG Archivist app, and future enhancements will be guided by real-world use and customer feedback.

It's finicky with the voltage, but when it works it works.
I genuinely love using this system. It’s allowing me to scan through almost 1,000 cards within half an hour, which is insane. I don’t take that for granted at all. However, there are a couple of flaws within the system that I feel like I would be remiss if I didn’t point them out.
One being that it was shipped to me without a power cable. For my instance, this turned out to be fine because I have plenty of USB-C cables lying around. I’m specifically using the one for my Raspberry Pi 5.
Second is that using the Archivist app does not use your phone’s camera to backlight the shot, and because your phone is directly over the area that you’re scanning, it can be hard to backlight it.
Third is that as the stack of unscanned cards gets lighter and lighter, you actually lose grip on the O-ring roller because of warping or texture differences between the cardboard and that kind of thing, so it feels like you need a small, maybe 10 g, weight, just enough to put a little bit of pressure on top of the cards.
Fourth is that it doesn’t allow the scanning of sleeved cards. I understand that it is probably difficult to scan a card with a sleeve because you can’t exactly prepare for distortion on the plastic. However, that does mean for every deck that you want to audit, you have to unsleeve, scan, and then re-sleeve. If there was a 10% increase in size for the scan chamber, I feel like it would work that much better.
My fifth and final gripe would be that maybe for a future upgrade you can make a wireless charging pad that your phone sits on while it’s scanning that plugs into the main system so that way you don’t have to worry about your phone dying while you’re scanning or just losing charge in general.
Besides those major complaints, everything else in the system works great.
By far the best card scanner I've ever used, uploaded over 2,000 cards in a couple of hours. The app is very accurate and makes it easy to double check printings before you add to your collection. Customer service is amazing, my first order was lost by USPS and they had a new one sent out within the week of contacting them. Can't recommend this product enough.
Works perfectly! No damage on cards and fast. Immensely helpful working through re-categorizing my collection.
